KSL volunteers dispense hand sanitizers to over 3,000 households in Singapore.
KSL participated in the “Bring Your Own Bottle” #BYOBclean initiative, led by Temasek Foundation earlier this year. This is part of the country’s “Stay Prepared” drive with the objective of preparing communities in Singapore for emergencies like major accidents, natural disasters, pandemics, severe haze or terrorist attacks. Fifty-one KSL employees spent much of their own time dispensing and distributing free hand sanitizers to over 3,000 households in Singapore. This #BYOBclean initiative encouraged all households in Singapore to receive 500ml of zero alcohol sanitiser by using their own clean, used bottle. This act of unity among Singaporeans from all walks of life was heart-warming as we strived together for a common purpose - in support of the nation’s green drive to reduce waste, and reuse and recycle bottles, to encourage good personal hygiene habits and curb the spread of Covid-19. As one of our KSL volunteers said, “I think the best thing about such initiatives is that it helps to reiterate the point that we are all in this together and that no one gets left behind. Some residents were unsure about how to use the hand sanitiser effectively, so my colleagues and I made it a point to explain clearly to all residents on the right methods of use.”
