To engage the younger generation, our volunteers partnered Life Community Services Society on a series of holiday outings and workshop with the children and youth under their MightyKids, Families & Community (MKFC) Centre.
In June 2024, our volunteers brought a group of 20 children and youth to the River Wonders as part of their holiday highlight. They were able to learn more about the animals as well as the conservation efforts of our local zoo.
To continue the engagement, a special terrarium workshop was organised by another group of 15 children and youth from MKFC. During the hands-on workshop, staff volunteers worked with the children and youth on individual terrariums. In addition to the chance of unleashing their creativity, the participants also learnt about the special eco-system of terrariums and how to care for their own terrariums which they brought home.
To wrap up, in the December holidays, a back-to-school supplies run was organised for the children who were brought to The Seletar Mall and gifted Great Rewards vouchers to purchase shoes, books and stationery for the 2025 school year. Our volunteers were paired up with the children to understand their needs and help select the right supplies.
