In conjunction with World Food Day, Kuok Group Singapore organised a Food Donation Drive at our Great World office over two weeks in September/ October 2024. A food donation cage was set up where colleagues could contribute essential items that would be collected and distributed to families in need through Food from the Heart.
Colleagues were encouraged to donate food items with validity of more than three months and with healthier choice logos to ensure the items are higher in nutrients.
More than 860kg of food items were collected; this includes 372kg of rice, 105 bottles of cooking oil, more than 300 can food, more than 100 packets of instant coffee and 300 packets of biscuits and crackers. These included 30 cartons of food items donated by the PaxOcean Tuas shipyard colleagues.
The collected items were distributed by local charity, Food from the Heart to their beneficiaries which include low-income individuals and families residing in welfare homes and housing estates through initiatives like 'Community Food Pack', 'School Goodie Bag' and 'The Community Shop'.
