As part of our partnership and support for Project Dignity, our volunteers from the Singapore office were able to visit the Dignity Kitchen where all seven stalls are run by the differently-abled and disadvantaged.
Dignity Kitchen is run by Project Dignity, a social enterprise founded in 2010 to create jobs for people with disabilities. Its Singapore branch comprises a fully functioning hawker centre open to the public, a culinary training centre, social outreach programmes, and second-hand book stalls.
In 2024, we organised six sessions of such Learning Journeys and meal preparation activities with Dignity Kitchen. Held at their Boon Keng Road kitchen, our volunteers were able to experience eating at the kitchen, learning basic sign language as well as prepare and distribution bento sets to residents living nearby.
