Our Group is deeply committed to environmental stewardship through various community initiatives, including tree-planting activities across multiple regions.
In Singapore, some of our staff volunteers participated in tree-planting activities as part of NParks’ The OneMillionTrees movement, a nationwide effort to plant a million more trees across Singapore over the next 10 years, bringing the number of trees in Singapore to more than 8 million. Launched in April 2020, this movement is a concerted effort to increase the number of trees planted throughout the whole of Singapore, including our streetscapes, gardens, parks and park connectors, nature reserves and nature parks, and more.
While the K2 Ireland team went to Dunsany Castle in Co Meath, Ireland in April 2024 to do their part in planting 100 trees. They had a tour of the surrounding estate and forests and were given a demo on how to plant the trees properly. The trees planted included Irish Oak, Ash, Hazel and Birch. The aim is to rejoin areas that have been separated by farming over the years. The rejoining of these forests will bring new habitat to millions of insects , bees , mammals & plant life in the area.
In October 2023, our maritime team from POSH sponsored a Plant-A-Tree programme in collaboration with Saudi Aramco. Responding to Aramco’s request, approximately 3,200 trees were planted near the Aramco Tanajib facility. This initiative aims to enhance environmental sustainability and promote greenery in the area.
